The way up

This years hike is the most challenging single day hike I have done.  It has three parts; the leg up, across the top to the north and then back down near the mouth of Weber canyon.  Here I am about 2-1/2 hours into the hike, a little more than half way up the south leg.

This is my normal picture spot near the top.  The highest point to my right is Darger peak; Thurston peak is on the far left of the picture with the snow bank at it's flank.  The trail I will be on goes just behind my knees and comes out in the saddle below my right hand at the base of Darger peak.  I'm alone so I have to set the camera on the ground.
